Based soley upon personal experience, over the years I have formed a very negative opinion of police officers, specifically thier personalities. Now I always assumed that I had just met some shitty cops, and that the majority of cops were probably decent people, but after reading a few posts on a police message board, and making a post of my own, I’m starting to wonder if the assholes I’ve met that called themselves cops are the rule and not the exception.

Here is a legitimate question I posted in the "ask a cop" section of the forum, you will notice I made an effort to be as polite as possible, and to be fair the first couple of responses were polite in turn, but as the thread goes on the type of cop mentality I’m all too familiar with rears its ugly head, totally unprovoked. I was dumbfounded at the hostility that seemingly came out of nowhere, and decided to read other responses to questions to compare them to mine, only to see that most legit posters asking serious questions were belittled, mocked, insulted, and talked down to by the "Verified LEO’s", it was amazing.

Now, obviously this isn’t a very important issue, hence why I put it in the "off topic" section, but it does strike me as odd the amount of absolutly insuferable people who are police officers, especially when public relations is such a vital part of the job. Now my question is, am I just being overly sensitive here, or is there really a disproportionate number of douche bag cops? And if the latter, is it that the job attracts assholes, or that the job turns people people into assholes?

Oh yeah, and I was banned from the forum for whatever reason:rolleyes: and can not comment on any posts on my thread in the past 20ish hours, because I cannot see them.
